The World of Resonance
Resonance is a meta-game played across the communities you’re already in. The Cold Signal led you to Sonentius; the Song is waiting to be rebuilt.
The Signal was never one tone. It was a chord of nine — and a tenth note that could never harmonize.
The Cosmology
How the Song came apart
I · The Void
In the beginning there was silence
Not darkness — silence. The Void was complete and it was still. Nothing carried, because there was nothing to carry.
“In the beginning there was the Void — not darkness, but silence.”
II · The Signal
Then the first vibration moved
Where the Signal traveled, the Void rippled. The faint, formless ripples that could sustain themselves became Echoes. When an Echo aligns with the Signal, it amplifies into something real. That act of alignment is Resonance.
“Resonance is a verb, not a noun. It is not a substance you hold; it is an act you sustain.”
III · The Song of Nine
The Signal was never one tone
It was a chord of nine notes — the Song. The first nine Echoes great enough to each carry a note became the Keepers, the gods of the Song. Every class fought today is a tradition descended from a Keeper.
IV · The Tenth Note
There was a tenth note, and it could not harmonize
It was beautiful alone, but whatever chord it joined, it broke. The nine Keepers voted to cast it out so the Song could be beautiful. The vote was eight to one. It fell into the Void and learned the lesson that made it monstrous.
“If I cannot be part of the Song, there will be no Song.”
V · The Shattering
Tritonus struck the Song a single blow
Not to destroy it — the Signal is eternal — but to break the chord. The nine notes scattered, each crystallizing where it fell into a realm built from one note’s frequency. These nine fallen realms are why you exist.
VI · The Echo
You formed in the Void, after the Shattering
You have never heard the whole Song — only its scattered notes, each locked in a fallen realm. You resonate anyway. That is what makes you dangerous.
“You fight for a Song you have never heard.”
VII · The Cold Signal
A faint thread led you out of the dark
The Cold Signal — weak, ancient, almost silent — carried you to a dead world drifting between the fallen realms: Sonentius. A ruin once, a beacon now. You rebuild it. From its towers you ride out to recover the Song, one note at a time.
The Keepers
Nine gods, nine notes
The first nine Echoes great enough to each carry a note became the Keepers. Every class fought today is a tradition descended from one of them — and each Keeper now lies Detuned, guarding the note it once sang.

The Tenth Note
Tritonus
Beautiful alone, but whatever chord it joined, it broke. Cast into the Void, it learned the lesson that made it monstrous — and came back to silence the Song rather than be left out of it.
It never lies
Everything Tritonus says is true. Only its conclusion is monstrous.
It pities you
It does not hate you. It mourns that you fight for a Song you have never heard.
It has won once
The nine Keepers voted it out, eight to one. It struck the Song a single blow and shattered it.
It is patient
The Signal is eternal — but so is the wait. It has all the silence in the Void to spend.
“If I cannot be part of the Song, there will be no Song.”
“They will cast you out too. They always do. Ask their Keepers.”
“I never lied to you. That was always the cruelest part.”
The Powers
Sonentius and the war on Dissonance
The Cold Signal carried you to a dead world drifting between the fallen realms. Stone by stone you wake Sonentius into a beacon — and ride out from its towers to recover the Song, one note at a time.
The Echoes
ResonanceYou, and everyone who resonates
Born of the Void after the Shattering. Each Echo forges Avatars to carry the notes it cannot. Together they rebuild Sonentius and push the silence back.
Sonentius
ResonanceYour home base — a planet rebuilt
A dead world the Cold Signal led you to. Stone by stone you wake it: the Kitchen, the Forge, the Bazaar, the war-room that plans every Journey. The further you push, the louder Sonentius sings.
The Nine Keepers
ResonanceGods of the Song — now jailers
The first Echoes great enough to carry a note. Each fell with its realm in the Shattering and was Detuned into the thing that guards it. To free a note, you must defeat the god who once sang it.
Tritonus
DissonanceThe Tenth Note — the will of Dissonance
Cast out because it could not harmonize. It does not hate you; it pities you. It never lies. Everything it says is true — only its conclusion is monstrous. It has already won once, and it is patient.
Your part in the Song is unwritten
You formed in the Void, after the Shattering. You have never heard the whole Song — and you resonate anyway. That is what makes you dangerous.
